Individual therapy for Deep Lasting Change

Serving New York & Massachusetts via Telehealth

Black Therapist in NYC, Boston, and Cambridge for anxiety, depression, trauma & relationship therapy with teens, adults, immigrants

Hi, I’m Dr. Thandika Brown.

I’m a Licensed Clinical Psychologist practicing in New York and Massachusetts. My work is grounded in insight-oriented therapy, empathy, cultural sensitivity, and collaboration. I help people untangle their challenges and old patterns to feel more confident, connected, and free. I work best with clients ready to commit to weekly or twice-weekly sessions to create the momentum and depth needed for fundamental transformation.

What We Can Work On Together

  • Managing depression, anxiety, and stress

  • Quieting the inner critic and transforming self-doubt into self-trust

  • Releasing guilt and shame that hold you back from joy and self-acceptance

  • Racial, Sexual, and Gender Identity Development

  • Strengthening your sense of identity in personal, cultural, or career roles

  • Romantic and platonic relationship challenges, including trust, intimacy, and conflict resolution

  • Love, dating, intimacy, and sexuality concerns—whether healing, exploring, or growing

  • Building healthier relationship patterns after toxic or unhealthy dynamics

  • Improving communication and boundaries

  • Strengthening emotional resilience for life’s inevitable ups and downs

  • Finding clarity when you’re feeling lost, disconnected, or unsure of your next step

  • Healing burnout and redefining what success looks like for you

  • Processing racial trauma, systemic stress, and microaggressions in a validating space

  • Letting go of perfectionism and imposter syndrome so you can feel worthy without overperforming

  • Family & Intergenerational Conflict

  • Moving through major life transitions—grief, relocation, divorce, graduation, or becoming a parent

  • Exploring career paths and work-life balance that align with your values

  • Working through Trauma, PTSD, and CPTSD

Who I Can Help

  • Those who are self-reflective but stuck: They think deeply about life and relationships, but can’t seem to break specific patterns (self-criticism, self-doubt, overthinking, people-pleasing, perfectionism).

  • Carrying invisible weight: From the outside, they may seem “fine” or successful, but internally they feel anxious, depressed, disconnected, or insecure.

  • Hungry for insight and growth: They’re not looking for “quick fixes” — they want to understand themselves, heal deeply, and make lasting changes.

  • Navigating identity and belonging: They may be wrestling with cultural identity, sexuality, gender expression, or how they fit into different communities.

  • High Achievers: They’ve earned the degrees, built the career, and checked every box of success — yet true satisfaction, joy, and peace still feel out of reach. What if the next goal isn’t about doing more, but about finally feeling whole?
